Well said! Your quote from a Finnish executive really hits home on the very core of what we need to do with US Education. NCLB has created a teach to the test environment, which only exacerbated the methods that left many children believing there is a "right" answer to any question. I recently had an eighth grade teacher tell me she struggles with a group of honors English students because the new curriculum they are using is meant to get the children to think independently and innovate, instead of just knowing whether the correct answer on the test will be choice a, b or c. Hopefully in my lifetime the United States more universally looks at the concept of long term benefits even in the face of short term reductions in profits - both in the business world and in it's approach to education.

Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog.

I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for first-time blog writers? I'd definitely appreciate it.
